Widecombe Village Market started in November 2005. It has enjoyed great success and is well supported by local people and visitors from a wide area.

The market is held in the beautiful and historic Church House, owned by The National Trust and leased to the village. It becomes the perfect market hall and adds considerably to the festive atmosphere of this event.

There is always an interesting range of produce including :- Hand made chocolates, Devon honey and honey products,West Country cheeses, local cider, freshly baked bread, pasties and pies, seasonal vegetables, eggs, home made jams and chutneys and Dartmoor photographs.

Refreshments are always provided with a variety of home made cakes, biscuits, scones etc with hot soup available in the colder months.

The Market has now become an established fixture on the village calendar. It is usually held on the fourth Saturday of the month apart from sometimes around Easter and in December (dates vary). Please see the list on the right.

The main aim of the market is to benefit local producers and businesses. In order to continue to be varied and interesting and to continue to evolve, enquiries from new stall holders are always welcome.
