A time capsule filled with sheets of paper etc supplied by parish residents and completed with interesting things about our life today was interred under a boulder on the village green with an inscriptionrequesting that it be opened in 100 years time. Widecombe Jubilee Celebrations Widecombe had a great Jubilee celebration with the Jubilee Lunch on Sunday 3rd June followed by games for the children, some Merrymakers sketches, a performance from the Widecombe Singers, the National Anthem and afterwards the release of a large quantity of red, white and blue balloons and culminating in Songs of Praise
